Coaching designed to make you faster
Rob Lee is a TrainingPeaks Level 2 certified coach and works with cyclists and triathletes who invest in their own performance by owning and using a powermeter. In some cases, a heartrate monitor is sufficient although unlikely to yield the same performance gains as when training with power.

ATHLETE
Rob raced as an elite category cross country mountain bike athlete throughout the late 90s (ranked No.10 in the UK in 1998) before making a successful transition to solo endurance racing in 2003. He went on to become one of most successful and influential solo endurance racers in the UK. After accumulating an extensive collection of victories in big races in the UK, Europe and Canada, including a Masters 24 hour Solo World Championships title in 2005, he then progressed onto long-distance challenges. Rob was the first rider to complete the infamous South Downs Double unsupported. His palmarès includes victories in road racing, time trial, off-road duathlon, mountain bike cross country, cyclo-cross and mountain bike marathon. In 2013 Rob was inducted into the UK mountain biking Hall of Fame.
COACH
Rob started his coaching journey in 1995 as a volunteer skills instructor for West Thames Division of the British Cycling Federation. As his racing progressed other athletes started to seek his advice and he was soon helping others improve their performance. Over the next 20 years Rob has been prolific with his coaching and mentoring activities in many sectors of the cycling industry.

XCO Mountain Bike and Cyclocross Racer
Rob has been helping me since 2015, a year in which he saved me from the brink of overtraining, to some of my best late-season results for years. Since then he has helped me to achieve my goals both on the MTB, and on the CX bike. I have managed to reach the podium in almost every major championship that I have competed in since 2015, and won several overall series in both Sweden and Denmark in my age category
Warren Bates
Ultra Cyclist, 2017 World 24 Hour TT Champion
Rob is an excellent coach with deep knowledge and experience in endurance cycling, bike fitting and aerodynamics. His coaching helped me win the World 24 hour TT championships in 2017, train for a record attempt the length of the UK, and finish in the top 10 (and first female finisher) at BikingMan Oman in 2019. More important than race results, Rob has cemented an understanding that consistency is key and helped me become a more disciplined rider. Although the training is first and foremost aimed at getting me physically ready for my goals, the mental element is always given due attention too, something that is especially important for the longer distances. Rob understands the challenges of combining big cycling goals with a demanding career and/or family life and is very quick in providing feedback and adapting training sessions where needed. What I appreciate most about Rob is that he always makes me question why I do what I do.
Jasmijn Muller
2018 Revolve 24 Hour Solo Winner
I have been working with Rob for a while now. He has brought structure and focus to my training which in turn has helped me to progress with my cycling and allowed me to keep improving month on month and season on season. He is always happy to help with general questions and has a great depth of knowledge and insight into all things training related (recovery, nutrition, general health). All these factors combine to make sure you have the right tools and information to get the most out of your hard work on the bike. If you want a tailored, no BS, coach or training plan Rob is the way to go.
Lindsay McCrae
Endurance Cyclist, British Cycling Level 3 Coach
Rob's knowledge and support was invaluable in giving me clear, well thought out structured training. The motivation and accountability from having a supportive coach cannot be underestimated and knowing Rob was doing the long term planning and looking at the bigger picture enabled me to focus on the training and make improvements year on year in mountain bike stage races and finish on the podium this year at Lanzarote 4 day MTB Stage Race.

TT Racer
Rob's custom training plans are excellent. They are based around periodisation and progressively increase. With a mixture of different types of exercises. Thanks to Rob I was able to increase my FTP by 15% this year and realise my goals. He is very approachable, and always there for me, with excellent advice and encouragement.
John Wrieden
Ultra Endurance MTB Racer
I was a 20 year cyclist when I started working with Rob. I was quite clueless about training and rode absent any focus or structure. I believed that as long as I worked hard, I'd get the best results that I possibly could. I'd developed my athletic potential as well as I could on my own. During the past 18 months I have experienced a significant improvement in my abilities. The insightful and timely guidance Rob has shared have helped me develop and sharpen my race-craft. The goal focused training has helped me achieve more than I thought possible. With my improved strength and endurance, I now enjoy mountain biking more than I ever have. It is not an understatement to say that working with Rob is one of the best investments I've ever made in myself. I'm very excited to see what comes next.

When you’re passionate about a something like cycling, you’re usually driven to master it. So you read books and publications, watch GCN videos, get tips from club mates, try the latest fad, etc. - but somehow you know you’re overwhelmed and not qualified to make sense of all the often conflicting data. You know you’re missing something and when you bonk in an important race, can’t keep up with that strong guy in the club every week or get sick from over-training, it just reminds you that you spent another season/year guessing - wrongly, again! Accepting to learn from a true professional like Rob means you remove the guessing work (and related frustration) and are able to truly grow in performance & knowledge (body, mind, talents, nutrition, tapering, etc.). It’s in fact a fascinating journey because Rob is like a master onion peeler; no sooner have you learnt something about your abilities, than he then peels back a new layer to optimize. I’m never going to win any races and have always been ‘mid pack’ in my club, but since working with Rob, which I would summarize as “less volume; more quality/focus = results”, I am now around top 25% in the club/age and on a good day will be holding or driving at the front. Those 10 moments a year, whether it be in a race, club ride or top 3 Strava KOM, are just fantastic and a tribute to Rob’s great coaching.
