1. Introduction
This privacy statement explains how Aura ("we," "us," or "our") processes your personal information when you use our websites, mobile applications, and related services (collectively, the “Service”). It is important to us that your privacy is safeguarded when using the Service.

"Personal data" is information relating to an identified or identifiable natural person. We process your personal information in accordance with applicable data protection laws, including the GDPR.

2. Roles and Responsibilities
The Aura platform allows administrators (e.g., coaches, club managers) to create groups and invite members (e.g., athletes). When an administrator adds a user to their organization, they do so in accordance with their own privacy practices and are responsible for having the appropriate consent. The use of our service by administrators is also governed by our Administrator Terms.

3. Categories of Personal Data We Process
Information you provide to us:
Account Information: When you create an Aura account, we ask for your name, email address, and password. An administrator may first provide basic profile information to invite you to a group.

Health and Wellness Information: You can choose to provide sensitive information, such as daily wellness logs (sleep quality, soreness, stress), training feedback (RPE), nutrition details, and injury status. Before you can upload this information, you must give your explicit consent.

User Generated Content: We collect information from posts, comments, and messages you share within the Service's communication features.

Information we collect when you use the service:
Technical and Usage Information: We collect information from your browser or mobile device when you use the Service, including IP address, device information, browser type, and information about how you use our features.

Location Information: We may process your general location information from your IP address or more precise location data from your activities if you choose to share it.

Information from connected third-party services:
Activity and Biometric Data: With your explicit consent, we collect activity and biometric data from third-party services like Garmin Connect. This may include workout details (duration, distance, heart rate), sleep data, stress levels, and GPS information.

4. How We Use Your Personal Information (and Our Legal Basis)
We state below the purposes for processing your personal information and the corresponding legal grounds.

To Provide Our Service

We use your Account, Health, and Activity data to deliver our core features, such as displaying your performance on your dashboard, allowing your coach to view your progress, and powering the AI Assistant Coach.

To Improve and Develop the Service

We use technical, usage, and de-identified activity data to analyze trends, compile statistics, and improve the functionality of our Service.

To Communicate With You

We use your contact information to send you essential information about the Service and your account. With your consent, we may also send you marketing communications.

For Security and Safety

We use your information to protect users, enforce our terms, and promote safety, for example, by investigating potential misuse of the service.

5. Categories of Recipients of Personal Data
YOUR COACH AND ORGANIZATION: Your performance, activity, and wellness data will be accessible to the authorized coach(es) and administrator(s) of the organization you are a member of. This is a core function of the service.

SERVICE PROVIDERS: We share information with third parties who provide services to us, such as cloud hosting (Google Cloud Platform) and customer support tools. They only have access to the information necessary to perform these functions on our behalf.

AGGREGATED INFORMATION: We may de-identify and aggregate your data to share with third parties for research or business purposes, for example, to provide insights into athletic performance trends. We will provide you with the option to opt out of this use of your information.

LEGAL REQUIREMENTS: We may disclose your information if we determine it is reasonably necessary to comply with the law or a valid legal process.

6. International Data Transfers
When you create an Aura account and upload data, your personal data will be collected and stored on servers in specific geographic locations (e.g., the U.S. or Europe, depending on the cloud provider). We use legal mechanisms, such as Standard Contractual Clauses, to ensure data transfers comply with applicable law.

7. Children's Privacy
Our services are not intended for children under 16 years of age without guardian consent. An adult nominated as a child’s guardian who has also registered for the Service will be able to see the child’s activity and data. If we learn we have collected personal data from a child under 16 without the required consent, we will take steps to delete the information as soon as possible.

8. Your Rights and Data Management
You have rights regarding your personal data, including the right to access, rectify, erase, restrict processing, and data portability. You can manage much of your information directly in your account settings. You also have the right to withdraw your consent for processing sensitive data at any time. We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. If we make material changes, we will provide prominent, advance notice, for example by email or by posting a notice within the Service.
